Every season new trend colors come along. Fun to join in, but not every trend color suits everyone. The fall winter 2026 color trends are outspoken. The good news: almost every trend color exists in a version that suits your seasonal type.

Below we list the trend colors of fall and winter 2026, with the variation that suits each season. That way you join in with the trends, without it costing you your glow.

The fall winter 2026 color trends

On the catwalks for this fall and winter, we mainly saw these six colors come back: sky blue, tomato red, magenta, tangerine and pumpkin, aubergine and chartreuse, a fresh yellow-green.

A real mix of warm and cool, bright and deep colors. That is exactly why not every trend color suits everyone.

Your version per season

Look up the trend color and see which variation belongs to your season. If a trend color does not suit your season, we name a color you can choose instead. Do not know your season yet? Then read what the 12 seasonal types are.

Each trend color in the spotlight

Sky blue

Fresh and light. A gift for spring and summer types. Autumn types are better off with a warm, deeper blue-green such as petrol, winter types with an icy light blue.

Tomato red

The warmest red of the season. Spring types and autumn types can carry it well, although autumn often chooses a slightly deeper version. Summer types choose raspberry, winter types a pure, clear red.

Magenta

A pronounced pink-purple. Winter types wear it effortlessly. For summer types orchid is the softer variation, for autumn types a deep berry red and for spring types a warm fuchsia.

Tangerine and pumpkin

Warm orange is truly a color for spring and autumn types: tangerine for spring, pumpkin for autumn. Summer and winter types do well to wear it as an accent far from their face, or to choose a color that suits them better.

Aubergine

A luxurious, deep purple. Ideal for winter types and the deeper autumn types. Summer types choose a softer plum. For spring types, aubergine is often too heavy.

Chartreuse

A fresh yellow-green that looks great on spring types. Autumn types choose the warmer, muted variation: olive green. For summer and winter types chartreuse is often too yellow; they are better off with sea green or icy mint.

Tip

Unsure in the shop? Hold the trend color next to your color fan. If it does not clash and falls within the same color family, it is your version.

Combining the fall winter 2026 color trends

A trend color looks most stylish when the rest of your outfit stays calm. Combine it with a neutral base color from your palette, such as navy, camel, dove grey or chocolate brown. Or choose two trend colors that both suit your season, for example sky blue with plum for a summer type, or pumpkin with olive green for an autumn type.

How to wear a trend color smartly

  • Start with an accent: a scarf, bag or pair of shoes in the trend color is a small investment.
  • Combine it with your own base: a trend color on a neutral base from your palette looks calm and stylish. Read which neutral colors suit you.
  • Wear it further from your face if the trend color is not in your palette.
  • Buy consciously: trends come and go, so mainly invest in pieces you will still wear after this season.

Trend colors and your existing wardrobe

You do not have to buy anything new to join in with the trends. Take a critical look at your wardrobe first: you may already have a piece in one of this season’s colors, or in your version of it. A sweater in plum, a scarf in petrol or a blouse in raspberry suddenly feels very current again when you style it with your neutral basics.

Do you want to buy something new? Then choose one trend color that suits you and that you can combine with at least three things you already own. That way the trend piece becomes part of your wardrobe, instead of a one-off purchase that ends up at the back of the wardrobe after a few months.
