A color analysis can feel like a luxury. “Surely I know what suits me?” Yet it usually gives you more than it costs: fewer bad buys, a wardrobe that combines better and no more money spent on make-up you never use. But what is the actual color analysis cost?
Below you can read what a color analysis costs, the difference between online and an in-person consultant, and why it often pays for itself quickly.
Color analysis cost: what do you pay?
The price mainly depends on the format. With a color consultant you pay for an appointment on location, often lasting a few hours. An online color analysis is usually more affordable, because you send in your photos from home. With us you choose between two packages, both based on the 12 season system, with your result within 48 hours:
Color analysis cost online or with a consultant
With a color consultant you sit opposite someone who holds fabric drapes next to your face. That is personal. However, you have to schedule an appointment and often travel, and it is usually more expensive.
An online color analysis, on the other hand, can be done whenever it suits you. Simply take a few photos in daylight and we assess your undertone, contrast and clarity. Afterwards, your result arrives digitally, so you can always look it up again. It is important that your photos are good, though: without make-up, in natural light.
Why a color analysis saves you money
Fewer bad buys
Everyone has them: that sweater that looked great in the shop but made you look pale at home, or the shirt you wore once. When you know which colors suit you, you simply leave those pieces on the rack from now on.
Say you buy five garments of €40 each year that you hardly ever wear. That is €200 a year, and over five years €1,000 worth of clothes that just hang in your wardrobe.
Your wardrobe combines better by itself
Colors from the same palette go together. Because of that, you can create more outfits with fewer pieces, and you less often feel you have “nothing to wear”.
No more money on the wrong make-up and hair dye
A foundation that is just slightly off, a lipstick you used once, a hair color that makes you look washed out. With your color palette you know which shades do suit you, at the drugstore and at the hairdresser too.
Less chasing trends
A trend color that does not suit you ends up at the back of your wardrobe after a few months. With your own palette you build a base that lasts for years. Also read why following fashion trends does not automatically make you more stylish.
Smarter shopping, second-hand too
When you know your colors, you see at a glance what suits you. That saves time and makes second-hand or sale shopping easier as well. With a color fan in your bag you hesitate even less.
In the end it is not about cheap or expensive, but about how often you wear something. In other words, a €100 sweater you wear for years is cheaper than a €50 sweater you never put on.
What do you get for your money?
Every color analysis comes with an extensive Style Guide about your seasonal type. It contains not only your color palette, but also advice on clothing, fabrics, prints, combinations, accessories and make-up. The Perfect Palette also includes a physical color fan: handy to hold against a garment while shopping.
When do you not need a color analysis?
Do you already know your seasonal type, for example from an earlier analysis? Then you do not need to pay for a new analysis. You can also order the color fan for your type separately. If you doubt whether your earlier result is correct, a new analysis can be worthwhile.
Color analysis cost per wear
A handy way to look at clothing is the price per time you wear something. An €80 sweater you put on fifty times costs you €1.60 per wear. A €30 sweater you only wear twice because the color does not suit you costs €15 per wear. A color analysis mainly helps you buy clothes from that first category: pieces you wear often and love wearing. As a result, you earn back the color analysis cost not only through fewer bad buys, but also through clothes you use for longer.

Is an online color analysis reliable?
Yes, if your photos are good. Take them in daylight and without make-up, so we can assess your undertone, contrast and clarity properly.
